Invasive Removal Day

Volunteers needed to help remove the exotic perennial Baby's Breath plant from the Hammock.

Bring your gloves and join us at the park 's main entry shelters. Disposal bags will be provided.

Although this pretty white flower, originally from Russia, is used in floral arrangements, it is an invasive plant in the wild. It spreads rapidly and will wipe out native growth. Each plant can produce thousands of seeds and grow tap roots that are 12 feet deep. It is toxic to cats and dogs and has been banned in California.

SUGGESTED CLOTHING: Long pants, closed-toed shoes, and gloves.

WHERE: Meet at the shelters in the main parking lot at 1900 San Mateo Drive, Dunedin.

Later Event: January 26
Friends of the Hammock Annual Meeting
